"Wow, how do you put into words the most thrilling experience of your life? Well, I will start by saying that I was very nervous and very afraid of heights. Robert West, my instructor, made me feel at ease about jumping. His sense of humor carried me through to the end. I remember feeling so free from all the stress and hassels of every day life. As a matter of fact, I remember the first words I spoke when I landed were "I feel so free." It was just about the accomplishment of jumping, but it was a life altering experience. Whoever said, "The sky is the limit" certainly knew what they were talking about. A special thanks to Terry Hopkins, my camera guy, for giving me somthing to cherish always. Thanks, Bert"

Erica Solak, Pendleton, SC (9/11/2006)
WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS I WAITING FOR?? Thanks to Kyle Rice, my instructor, and Terry, the camera master! You both were were the BEST! I can't wait to come back! For some moments in life there are no words...the freefall is one of those moments...the other is the fall beneath an open parachute when the whole planet opens underneath you and your mind is racing, but it's so calm and serene! It's achieving a sense of "free" that no one can take away...CAUSE THEY CAN'T REACH YOU! Hope to be bringing a bunch of Marines out next year to do do the same!

Michelle Munson, Stanfield, NC (8/15/2006)
What a BLAST!! My jump was Friday 8/11/06, the last jump of the day. Richard you are the best!!!! These guys are one in a million, talk about making me feel comfortable. Very professional!!!! I will never forget my experience!!! I hope I get to jump again in the future!!! Everyone should try this at least one time...Jump Today!

Bobbie Jo Holombo, Atlantic Mine, MI (8/12/2006)
I jumped on 7-23-06. THIS WAS UNBELIEVABLE! AMAZING! THANK YOU, THANK YOU AND THANK YOU!I want to go again and again and again. I could not asked for better people or a better place to go. I will never forget my day. How can I, I watch my video all the time. Chuck my tandem guy and Terry my photo guy were great. THANKS GUYS! So much fun and easy going. I felt very safe and never was scared or nervous. This experience was UNFORGETTABLE! I have to say this was the next greatest experience after my children. I am planning on coming back early summer of '07, my husband is going to jump, also. This is something everyone should experience. THANKS, AGAIN for a lifetime memory. GOD BLESS YOU ALL in Chester, SC.

Carmen Batchelor, Cullowhee, NC (07/17/2006)
I jumped for the first time yesterday and it was an amazing experience. My instructor was absolutely amazing. All of the people were really personable and I felt really safe. I think everyone should try it at least once. I can't wait to go again.

On 9-July-06, at
Skydive Carolina!, I answered the “why” question that everyone always asks… Because it is FUN! EXCITING! Like nothing I’ve ever done before. This fantastic adventure was made most memorable by Kenn Ouzts, my remarkable instructor and my great videographer, Terry Hopkins. They both were really cool; they eased my nerves by talking to me and joking around a bit. During the conversations with them, it was evident that they knew what they were doing and that made me feel safe and comfortable.

It was interesting to watch the “professional” skydivers before we suited up. They make it look so easy. Hats off to you guys & gals. Before I knew it… our time! What an adrenaline rush! I had a wonderful, thrilling, and breath-taking experience; one I won’t forget, especially because I have the dvd and pictures to remind me. The dvd and photos were awesome. Great work Terry and to Delfina for great editing! Of course kudos to my co-star, Kenn! ;)

Kenn, you were absolutely awesome! When I asked if we could spin, you delivered. Woah, that was crazy. The landing was greatly appreciated… not on the rear, it was perfect! Thanx for making my experience everlasting!

See you guys at Skydive Carolina! again… soon!

Robin Helms, Fort Mill, SC (06/19/2006)
The BIG question is WHY did I wait so long??? I can definitely see how this sport can be addictive. It was a spur of the moment decision that proved to be AWESOME. My instructor (Kyle Rice) was courteous, professional and personable. I never had any doubts that it would be less than a rewarding experience. And, I was right! Mike Reyes was the photographer to whom I was blessed to have. The photos and videos were superb. Thanks to everyone! You will definitely see me again.

Garry Saffold, Charlotte, NC (06/13/2006)
WOW! What can I say? I had such an awesome experience at
Skydive Carolina! The staff and instructors were professional and made me feel very comfortable for my first jump. This was a great Birthday present from my wife and friends and I would recommend Skydive Carolina! to anyone contemplating the skydive experience. Last but not least, I want thank my tandem master "Joey Freeman" for our smooth landing and I would also like to thank my cameraman "Robin Kellam" for the awesome video...great job guys. I will definitely be back.

Allan Jenkins, Waxhaw, NC (5/11/2006)
My first jump was unbelievable. The excitement, the rush, and the feeling of total freedom that I felt while jumping is unparrelled in everything that I have ever done before. The instructor Keri "Delphina" Pyne was incredible. Her attenetion to detail in teaching the class made it very easy to take that big step out of the aircraft. I felt totally safe during the jump, the pull, and the ride to the ground. I reccommend doing this if you never have before. I know that I will again. Thanks for making this experience one that I will remember as long as I live.

Gregg Hunter, Fort Mill, SC (5/3/2006)
Incredible! An experience of a lifetime, and one I will definitely do again. I recommend it to everyone.
Skydive Carolina! is an outstanding facility and the instructors are the best. They make you feel so comfortable. Heidi was my tandem instructor and Mike was the cameraman. Their confidence and support made my first jump seem like I had done it for years and was out for an afternoon thrill ride with longtime friends. And the video is a must. It really captures the essence of the experience and allows you to re-live the adventure over and over again. Thank you to Skydive Carolina!, especially my instructors, for providing such an amazing moment in my life. See you again soon!

Cindy Watkins, Mooresville, NC (5/1/2006)
After waiting 43 years, I finally jumped at age 60; and I jumped with my son and best friend. Thank you
Skydive Carolina! and my tandem partner, Joey, for the best experience possible. It was more than I imagined possible. What a thrill!!! What I thought would be the hardest was the easiest and most exciting--falling out of the plane. Joey provided a smooth ride and landing--thanks, you're the best. Even riding commerical airlines won't be the same--I'll be looking out the window wishing I were in Chester and jumping with you guys. Also, thanks for the great video. I've already shown it to my friends and I feel the same rush watching it as I did on Saturday. Every time I watch it, I'm ready to jump into my car so I can go jump out of a plane. After watching the experience with me, about 10+ people are ready to join me next time. I'm ready to go again. See you in September.

Katheryn Bauer, Mooresville, NC (4/29/2006)
I just jumped my first tandem skydive and it was THE MOST INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAVE!! The instructors are great and make you feel really comfortable!! Johnny was great to have on my back, I trusted him with my life!! I started to cry before I jumped out of the plane but the second I was out I was screaming how amazing it was! I recommend it to everyone!! Unfortunately I didn't get a video and wish I did, but i guess it just gives me another reason to go again!!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS EXPERIENCE!!

Walter Mays, Charlotte, NC (4/20/2006)
I want to thank everybody for making my first jump a Wonderful and exciting experience. Judy, Pete, Mike and Danny, I can't thank each of you enough, each one of you made this adverture one I'll never forget. From the minute I started the ground school Judy, your confidence level gave me a since of peace about the whole thing. I'm looking forward to the next jump. Needless to say I've told everybody I know and several people that I don't know. I've watched the video several times. I would have gotten out the door easier if I had remembered that I actually had to lift my left foot up and take a step. Man what a RUSH!! My prayer is that the God of heaven will keep each one of you and your students safe at all times and that His blessings will be poured out on each of your lives daily!

Heather Singleton, Newport, NC (4/1/2006)
One of my dreams come true. It was everything I had expected and more! Speight, Steve and I all experienced a tandem jump on April Fool's Day (April 1, 2006) and it was an experience I will never forget. All day the excitement was building and then came time for the big moment. Ken (my instructor) and Mike (videographer) made the whole process very easy. The FREEFALL was the coolest feeling in the world and the rush from jumping from the plane made me feel like a superhero! As soon as the shoot opened, it was silent all around and I felt like I was floating in air. I loved the spins and the awesome control of the flight. The views from high above the ground were truly impressive. Mike did a great job catching my facial expressions and Ken encouraged me to live in the moment, thank you to both for making this an unforgetable milestone. I plan to continue this new hobby and to learn more about the sport to eventually jump solo! I'M HOOKED!

Chad McGahee, Aiken, SC (3/20/2006)
I want to thank everyone at
Skydive Carolina! for making my 30th birthday the best one I could ever have. Everyone should experience the thrill of skydiving at least once in their lifetime. I highly recommend the facilities that Skydive Carolina! offers, very knowledgeable staff, highly professional, and pleasureable.Kenn Ouzts (Instructor) and Terry Hopkins (Photographer)was terrific on my first jump. I couldn't have asked for any better.I loved it so much I even purchased my second jump as soon as I was on the ground. It's definitly an addiction. See you guys in the near future. Thanks again.

Mike Pereira, Belmont, NC (11/21/2005)
WOW!!!! Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!!!! I can't begin to explain my experience at
Skydive Carolina!. The staff was extremely professional and fun. The facility was top notch. The experience was priceless. I was a bit apprehensive about jumping out of an airplane, but, from the time I arrived at the Skydive Carolina! facility I was put at ease by their professional and courteous staff. After filling out a few forms and signing my life away, we were shown a short video about skydiving and the legal aspects of the forms we just signed. A few minutes later we were called and told to enter the hangar and suit up.

This is where we met our Tandem Instructors. My Instructor, Gene, was awesome. He got me suited up and ready to go in short order. He was very informative and was open to all my questions. He also kept the atmosphere light with some jokes and smiles. This is also where you meet your personal Photographer/Videographer. My Photographer/Videographer was Heidi. She rocks!!! She was very upbeat and positive. She really knows how to pull your personality out, so that it shows up well on film.

Once I was suited up we were boarding the plane. The plane ride is a short 15 minute ride to about 14,000 ft. At about 8,000 ft. my Photographer/Videographer Heidi checked in with me again to get a little nore footage before we exited the aircraft. When we reached the jump zone at 14,000 ft. the door slid open and the experienced skydivers exited the aircraft in record time. Before I knew it, the people I came with were exiting the aircraft and it was my turn. As I approached the door, the reality hit me that I was about to jump out of an airplane. Luckily, I didn't have too much time to think about it, because no sooner were we at the door, than we were out it.

The second I left the aircraft, all the fear and nervousness left and was replaced by sheer excitement and thrill. I can't begin to explain the feeling. It's thrilling, exciting and empowering all at once. You feel like you are on top of the world. (Probably because you are...) You don't feel like you are falling, you just feel like you are flying. It's awesome! The one thought that I can recall was, "Why haven't I done this before?" The freefall was an adrenaline rush like nothing else. You are trying to soak it up and enjoy it, but at the same time you are mindful of your Photographer/Videographer shooting the video.

So you have to ham it up for the camera a little. Before I knew it, the parachute was deployed and everything went silent. I was now drifting slowly towards the earth, like a feather. Peaceful is the only way I can describe this part. By the time we approched the field to land, Heidi was on the ground and filming. She approached me and we did the final interview piece for the video. Ten minutes later I had my video in hand, I had already purchased my next jump and I was ready to go home. (Or at least go for a beer!) I have found that very few things in life are worth the asking price, but this is certainly one of them.

If you have ever considered doing something crazy to shake your life up, or if you are already involved in other extreme experiences, do yourself a favor and take a skydive at Skydive Carolina! And be sure to get the Video/Picture package! It's money well spent. I have watched mine like 15 times in the last couple days since my jump. Everyone wants to see it when you tell them about it! Take a skydive at Skydive Carolina! as soon as you can. You will thank yourself and them over and over and over again. So, thank you Gene! Thank you Heidi! And, thank you Skydive Carolina!, for everything!

Dan Carroll/ATDO Ministries, Piedmont, SC (11/20/2005)
Skydive Carolina! made our "Fall From Heaven" trip a huge success on October 29. This was our second group that we have brought this year with our outdoor ministry. Both have been incredible experiences for our participants. Over 50% of our jumpers have purchased a second jummp already!! The instructors, photographers, and everyone there at Skydive Carolina! are top notch individuals. They truly do strive for excellence in making it an incredible experience. They understand what our ministry is all about, and they are great at helping us achieve our goals. We will be planning more events this next year in parntership with Skydive Carolina!. We feel that they are the best at what they do!!! Hope to see some of you in the air very soon!! Pressing on towards the goal, Dan Carroll.

Christy Spencer, Lancaster, SC (11/7/2005)
I never imagined that sky diving could give someone the feeling that it gave me! I was expecting a rush, but nothing like it was! My mom and dad jumped with me and the whole experience was amazing! We still can not stop talking about it..or watching our videos thinking WOW...we actually did it!?!? My instructor Kenn was awsome! He made me feel comfortable and safe whole way! The staff and camera crew were great! Everyone was very friendly and more excited for me to be there than I was! I can't wait to save up some money to come back! Great job you guys for helping ordinary people feel as adventurous as it made me feel! See ya' soon.

Chris Meadows, Indian Trail, NC (10/24/2005)
I came last Friday with my 2 small children and my wife. My wife was there to watch and she ended up jumping before Idid. By far this was the best time my wife and I have both had except for the birth of our children. Kenn is a great instructor and made this a wonderful and memorable experience. I am going to be taking the AFF class as soon as Ican get scheduled. I would recomend that anyone thinking about jumping out of an airplane, to go right to
Skydive Carolina! THANKS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED. THE CAMERA CREW WAS GREAT.

Michele & Perry, Charlotte, NC (10/23/2005)
Today was our first time skydiving and the experience was amazing. The staff is wonderful. My husaband and I had no worries about our jumps. Many thanks to our tandem instructors; Ken and Liam and a big thank you to our cameramen for some awesome footage. Can't wait to see you all next time!!!!

Ed Henderson, Matthews, NC (10/16/2005)
I knew I wanted the full skydiving experience, so I took the AFF course yesterday (10/15/05) for my first time under a canopy... instructors Mike, Del (tip o' the hat to her for the great video work, too!), and Robin did an outstanding job of getting me into the air and back down safely- what a blast! The relaxed camaraderie between everyone at the hangar really gave the sense that you were truly among friends- it was just a perfect day, and I can't wait to get back to Chester to suit up again. Two thumbs up! ...I'd recommend the AFF program to anyone.

Richard Lagace Jr., Indian Trail, NC (10/3/2005)
For me there are no words to describe how skydiving makes me feel. I am hooked and truly enjoy the freedom of mind skydiving gives me. Skydive Carolina is a great place to learn the sport thanks to all the wonderful staff who were so quick to accept me as one of there own. I completely feel at home when I am there and am grateful for all the help and instruction!

Richard, Banbridge, Co Down, Northern Ireland (10/2/2005)
I did my first skydive (tandem) in August 05 and it was soooo awseome! im gonna come back some day and do the whole course so I can dive solo. I can tell you Skydive Carolina has great management, staff and facilities and I hope to be back one day.

Laura Johnson, Trinity, NC (10/1/2005)
Hey Guys! I just want to start off by saying that I really appreciate the kind and friendly staff at
Skydive Carolina!, you guys were awesome! I would also like to give a special thanks to Joey my tandem instructor, you were really nice and helped to make this experience, along with the rest of the staff, enjoyable and fear-free! This was the most unforgetable experience of my life, and I am so happy that I did it, and now I can't wait to get back so I can jump again. I am also happy that I got it on video, so now I can relive that crazy jump any time I want, and that wouldn't have been possible without my camera man, Mike, thanks for all you did! Until Next Time.

Mike, Greenville , SC (9/25/2005)
WOW!!!! It was the coolest thing I have ever done. Something felt wrong when I jumped out that door. I mean jumping out of a plane 2.5 miles in the air for the first time. The first 5 to 10 seconds your brain is trying to figure out all these feelings like what you see and the wind and speed the coolness of the air. It really is not anything to compare it to. You have never done this and it is way different than anything. I bought my ticket for another ride already. Chuck was my instructor and was great. Terri did the video and it was great. If you go get the video and the stills it will be worth it I promise. Every time I watch it it's like I jumping again. And I tell you it really feels safe once you are out that door. It's a rush like no other but it feels safe so go you will not regret it I promise.

Renee Lamb, Winston-Salem, NC (9/21/2005)
INCREDIBLE!!!!!This was one of the most exciting adventures of my life! We were part of a group who work together, and it was made even more special as my mother and my daughter jumped also. I have to say, the only time I got frightened was when I saw my baby girl go out the door. That caused a near panic mother reaction. However, she was with a great instructor (Kenn), and it finally dawned on me that he would take good care of her. My instructor (Gene) got me safely back to the ground, my videographer (Robin) was absolutely wonderful! He is so upbeat and so funny! We have signed up for another jump, and next time plan to modify a few things. Fisrt, we did not eat anything before our jump as we thought we'd be going in the morning. It worked out that we didn't jump until mid-afternoon, so our blood sugars had dropped and we all felt a little queasy and headachy. We'll be sure to eat. We also didn't have much to drink, so we were a bit dehydrated. I wasn't sure when we hit the ground that it was anything I ever needed to do again, but I can't seem to stop grinning, and I can't seem to stop thinking about it, so we have signed up for another ride! We can't wait! Thanks to all, you were wonderful and took great care of us!

Keith Davis, Winston-Salem, NC (9/21/2005)
Thank you so very much to Gene, Chuck, Heidi and Mike (and all the support staff) for the instruction and unbelievable footage of our recent jump. We celebrated Emily's 30th birthday with
Skydive Carolina!, and it made for one of the best birthday celebrations either of us have ever experienced. The experience of jumping speaks for itself - but I really feel the staff at Skydive Carolina! made the experience unforgetable. Completely professional and deeply experienced, yet highly personable and accomodating to us first-timers. I can not say enogh positive things! We've watched our videos 20 times in the last several days - and our jumping companions were just as excited as we were. You really know how to make this an experience of a lifetime. Thank you!!! We'll be back!!

Kimberly Johnson, Trinity, NC (9/16/2005)
I Looovvvveeedd it!!!!! I had no 2nd thoughts at all. I was not even nervous. I went with family and friends and that nade it the experience of a lifetime! I had a fabulous instructor~Tim Hord, who made me feel safe as you possibly can jumping out of a plane, but I loved it and I am already signed up to do it again. Thanks to eveyone at
Skydive Carolina! for making my first jump an incredible experience that I will never forget for the rest of my life! See ya soon for my next jump!

Stephanie Hawks, Kernersville , NC (9/10/2005)
WAHOO!!!!!! As soon as I hit the ground I was ready to go back up for another jump. The experience of skydiving at
Skydive Carolina! is undescribable! No words can explain the feeling of all the adrenaline being released as you plunge out the door of the aircraft! My instructor Ken was incredible and my videographer Heidi did a wonderful job of pumping me up for the dive! If any of you are going, I can't urge you enough to get the video, it captures everything!!!!! The staff at Skydive Carolina! made the experience unforgettable from the beginning til the very end. Thank you Ken and Heidi for taking part in the experience of a lifetime!!! And guess what?!?! I've already booked my next jump. Ready or not Skydive Carolina!...here we come!!!! :)

Steve Sapp, Matthews, NC (9/10/2005)
I had the best time, today, on my first jump. I went for the second jump as soon as I got on the ground, assuring that I'll go again, soon. Tim was a great coach and really made my jump a positive and memorable experience. I've already been able to share my video, pictures and stories with family and friends who want to go for their first jump too. Thanks again.
.

Julie Senn, Inman, SC (9/8/2005)
OH MY GOSH!!!! Thats all I could say after we landed on the ground. I went for my 25th Birthday and brought my friend Ashley who jumped as well. It was the most amazing thing I have ever done. I couldnt stop smiling the whole time I was there. The instructor, Ken, was awsome he kept me clam and cool with all his jokes and Judy who did the video was awsome. Thats an amazing talent there. I have shown my video to EVERYONE I see! Snake did the editing, and I felt like I was in a hollywood movie... I got to pick my own background music and then he worked his magic.......he did an awsome job. I will never regret this experience. I cant wait to go again!!!

Haley A. Elis, Stanley, NC (9/3/2005)
I'm not sure if I can describe my experience in words. It is a feeling that I will never forget. One of the best, most amazing experiences in my life. Ken was awesome as well as Robin my video guy! They made things seem so simple I was so comfortable when jumping with these guys. My best friend brought me here today the 3 or September for my 21st birthday which was last week as a surprise. I never thought that I would skydive at 21, heck even before 30 or 40. It was definitely the most amazing experience ever. Kelly and I both bought passes that are good for a year so we can come back. The spring is looking like a good time for us.

If you're nervous don't be, the staff at Skydive Carolina!'s amazing, seriously. Each and every one of them make you feel great, of course I'm partial to Kenn and Robin seeing as how they were my instructor and film guy, but Kelly loved Gene as Beth (Kelly's mom) loved Robert. The free fall and getting right out of the plane is definitely the best part. You can't even tell you are falling at 120 miles per hour, well until you see your camera guy fly by you once the shoot is out.

If I can recommend this to any of you, do it and get the video and file. They will help you remember one of your best life experiences. 2 1/2 miles in the air (14000 ft) and falling out of a plane is something you will never forget.

I just want to thank everyone at Skydive Carolina! for the best 21st BIRTHDAY ever, well and of course Kelly B, for coming up with idea, I'm never surprised by the way and she surprised the hell out of me! Kenn, Robin you two ROCK ASS...Thank you soooo much and I will see you sometime in the spring.

Jessica Vanepps, Charlotte, NC 8/30/2005)
I jumped for the first time this past Sunday August 28th 2005. It was an incredibly breath takin experience. I could never find adequate words to describe this fully!!! I believe jumping is addictive, because I can't wait to jump again!

I would like to send a special thanks to Ken!!! I don't think my experience would have been what it was without you!

So thanks again & i'll see you soon!

Jess!!!

Richard Manning, West Columbia, SC (8/25/2005)
To James and the wonderful crew at
Skydive Carolina!: My very first skydiving experience took place last Friday, on the occasion of my 50th birthday. While my wife decided to keep her feet planted firmly on the ground, my son and daughter enthusiastically took the plunge with me! I know, that was a pretty bad pun. Simply put, the experience was fantastic. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. "What a rush" doesn't begin to describe the experience of falling through a mile of sky with the wind rushing in your ears. And then the calm silence that follows the opening of the canopy ... that was unexpected. And amazing.

I think you get the picture: we enjoyed ourselves immensely. And speaking for my wife I can say she was glad to see her entire family walk away from the drop zone with all our various appendages still attached. Our hats are off to our instructors, Robert West, Kenn Ouzts, and Charles Hammond: they displayed just the right amount of professionalism mixed with a sense of fun. What I want to point out most of all has to do with the video and the effort you went to getting it to us in time for the birthday party Saturday night. This stands out in my mind as much as the jump itself. I can't think of any other organization that would have taken such pains to make us happy. It defines what is meant by "customer service." Please extend my thanks to Judy Girard; she was not only a fine videographer but she clearly went above and beyond the call.

Thanks for an experience we'll treasure for the rest of our lives.

Best wishes to you and your staff,
Richard Manning

Jennie Bullard, Gastonia, NC (8/22/2005)
On 08/20/05 I got to live out a dream of skydiving (riding the wind as I call it.)My experience was perfect. It could not have been any better. Chuck was my tandem master and Pepe was my videographer. These guys made me feel like a star. I was not scared at all. But when my nerves kicked in so did these guys. They kept me calm and happy. As you know I can not describe the feeling I got from this. But it was the best day of my life. I want to thank everybody involved. Everybody was so nice. Special thanks to James for introducing me to Rachel (my sky idol).I really enjoyed getting to hang out with her. Maybe next time I will get to jump with her. I only have one regret from this day, and that is that I didn't get to properly thank everybody involved and tell you all goodbye. But I realize there was no need for goodbyes because I will be back. So I will just say thank you all so much and I will see you all again hopefully in a few months. Props to the website designer too! You have built a great website. Very informative! Keep smiling everyone:)

Nicole Kirkland, West Columbia, SC (8/19/2005)
The first time I experienced the enormous thrill of skydiving was on my twenty-first birthday....I did a tandem jump with Tim. The anticipation was killing me as I waited for this big day....when it came, I was terrified! I kept asking myself," What in the world were you thinking!" The plane ride was much better than I expected although I was shaking so bad I believe I was rattling Tim and Heidi beside me. My best friend and boyfriend went with me...both out before me. As we left the security of the plane I immediately knew I would be back for more.

So, I have...since then I began my AFF course and have completed through level 6 and I have never seen such a thing in my life! Now my instructors are teaching me all sorts of neat tricks. In my level six I had the joy of a back flip....HOW INCREDIBLE! Skydiving is something that can never be put into words...if you've EVER let it cross your mind...DO IT NOW!!!! I have met so many wonderful people along the way and have always felt safe as can be at Skydive Carolina!....this is now MY HOME DZ and I miss it every second I'm not there! To all the instructors and staff...ya'll are the best people on earth! See you soon to finish up 7 and do my first SOLO!!!! I thought the day would never come! And to everyone curious...you'll never regret it if you just take the plunge...but beware...you will be spending alot of money in the future if you go once because you won't be able to keep yourself away!!! Hope to see alot of new faces at home soon ;)

Laura Staff, Charlotte, NC (8/9/2005)
If you haven't done this...
don't wait another minute! I'm still diving with skydive carolina and more impressed every time....yes, it only get's better. Skydiving with Skydive Carolina! is the safest, most fufilling and incredible expierence you will ever have in a life time... Don't pass up this chance. If you have ever thought you may want to do this, don't waste time. You are only missing out on the thrill of a life time by waiting. Let them empower you, make you laugh and enjoy all they have to offer. Your only regret will be if you don't go do it!!!!! SHINE ON!!!!

Laura Staff, Charlotte, NC (7/23/2005)
I expierenced my 1st jump with Skydive Carolina on July 15th 2005... ABSOLUTLY RADIANT!!!! Ken was my instructoer... the best!!! I've jumped with others. But
Skydive Carolina! will be getting many new faces passed on by me. You are made to feel safe, secure and informed. Even those with a healthy fear will find them selves at ease with the staff and instructors. They make it a fun, wonderful and enjoyable expierence that will have you comming back for more. It would take a poet to discraibe the 'ride' in it self... but rest assured that Skydive Carolina! will make it a wonder beyond belief.... What a incredible job they do!!!!!! After jumping with them.... I think EVERYONE should try it.... trust me, you'll be hooked.

Since I was a little girl, I had told my parents that I wanted to skydive. For my high school graduation, my parents gave me this as a present. I went on July 4th. (I was the fireworks)! I was extremely nervous as I was getting suited up. My AWSOME instructor Kenn helped to calm me down. He told jokes the entire time. I could not have asked for a better instructor.

This day was also the first time I had ever been on an airplane! The ride up was amazing. Everyone was laughing and having fun. The most beautiful thing was the blanket of clouds that covered the sky.

The actual jump is indescribable. It was amazing. I have never felt so free!! As we were free-falling I felt as if we were flying. To all of you who were wondering......your stomach does not drop when you jump. You dont even feel like you are falling. Once the parachute was pulled, you could see for miles!

I wanted to thank all of Skydive Carolina!'s staff for makiing this an unforgetable experience. I especially want to thank Kenn! You are an awsome instructor. I wouldnt of wanted to be straped to any other instructor. I'll always remember that we were the only tandam at the time to stand or landing!!!

Ever since I was a little girl my dream was to go skydiving. For my 18th birthday my dad made my dream come true. When the day came I found myself not nervous at all, but so excited that I was shaking with anticipation. When it came time to jump. My heart was fluttering with excitment. I can not even begin to describe the feeling. The sense of freedom when your falling is amazing!!! The view clensed my soul. I have always had a sense for adventure. This expreriance was more than I ever dreamed of.....until next time.

T
o begin, I was scared out of my mind. We waited for a few hours before we could jump and I was just ready to go ahead and do it. However, when they called my name and told me to suit up, I began to freak out. Chuck, my awesome wonderful instructor, came over to me and introduced himself and told me not to worry and that I would have a blast. Well, to be hoenst, that didn't convince me, but at least I tried to hide it :) After I had my pre-jump interview, we boarded the plane. The higher we got, the more nervous I got, but I knew at that point there was no turning back, so I should just embrace the experience instead of being scared of it. That's exactly what I did.

As we reached 14,000 feet, the experienced divers went out one by one. Then it was my boyfriend's turn...ready..set...go...he was out. When I saw him jump, I got really really scared...it was my turn! OH MY GOD! I'm about to jump out of a plane..WAS I NUTS!?!? Chuck and I waddled up to the door and he said...ready...set..go and BAM we were flying. I opened my eyes immediately and it was not like falling, the ground did not get closer and closer the more we fell, there was no feeling of falling in my stomach...it was true feeling of floating. I screamed and waved at the cameraman, threw a thumbs up, and before I knew it, the parachute was opening. We went back up like a yo-yo and the view was incredible.

Chuck did a few spirals for me and 5 minutes later we were on the ground. I have never been so happy in my entire life. If you decide to go I have 2 suggestions. 1. Get the video/pictures for your 1st jump..it's only been 2 days and I've watched it at least 10 times. And 2. ASK FOR CHUCK! He's the greatest. I'm already planning a trip for my Dad's 50th birthday in September and I can't wait to go back.

Ruth, Columbia, SC (6/19/2005)
Yesterday was my first skydive. I didn't really get nervous until Tim and I were out of the plane. Of course there was a knot in my stomach before hand, but that didn't really seem to bother me. Tim did the best he could to keep me safe and happy.

It is just barely over 24 hours since I jumped and I have watched my video about 6 times and I am still not tired of watching it. Thanks to the wonderful staff! And an extra special thanks goes out to Tim!!

Oh by the way, Tim, if you read these messages shoot me an email.

Skydive Carolina! My husband (Dean) gave me the most wonderful gift for my 40th birthday. “What a great way to fall”, if your gonna go down, do it at 120 mph, with a nice looking guy strapped to your back. Now, Dean does not have the same sentiment; as I am sure Ken will agree, but never the less he thought the jump was awesome.

James, you are my Hero! You made my mid life crises an enjoyable life changing experience. I will always remember your kindness and your professionalism. Donald Trump would be honored to have you as his human relations consultant.

Joe, you saved the day. I loved your “peach jump suit” and your free spirit. The video, I will always cherish. I would not have wanted anyone else to take my picture while I was scared “_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _”.

Ken, you have the most awesome job. I could not have been any more comfortable with someone pulling me out of a perfectly good airplane. You have truly found your calling. I want to jump again and I want you to be their.

Professor Solomon, both my husband and I want to thank you for the moral support, and for making the jump “real”. If you ever want to go down under (100 feet) we would love to have you tag along.

Skydive Carolina! My husband and I own several businesses and know the trials of dealing with the general public. Skydive Carolina! was kind, courteous and very professional. The staff understood the gravity of the what we were experiencing being “green” jumpers.

Your staffs reassurance and extreme professionalism made us feel comfortable. Lets face it when you are 10,000 feet in the air, you want to feel comfortable with the people that you are with.

40 and holding and forever hooked.

Hara Weir, Davidson, NC (6/13/2005)
When you ask me to describe my experience, I find myself at a loss because there's truly no words to cover the most awesome experience I've ever had. My husband bought me the jump for my 50th birthday because I've always wanted to skydive. When it became a reality my heart went directly to my throat and stayed there! Once we arrived and went through all the legal stuff then the excitement started. I really thought that I would be scared and nervous, but for some reason I wasn't. I was just plain excited. When the time came to "suit up" and get ready to board the plane I don't think my feet touched the ground. I thought that I would sit in the plane and not look out the window because I didn't want to be reminded of what I was going to do. Nahh! I was watching every foot we accended. I had Terry, the photographer with me and of course the best instructor - Chuck. But when Chuck said that it was time to put on my helmet and we "hooked up" that was the longest moment of my life! Then the door opened, Terry went out and the next thing I knew Chuck was counting 1-2-3 and out we went! AWESOME!!! Free falling!! The wind rushing by was incredible. I saw Terry out there with the camera, but I really didn't have time to pay attention to him, I was busy FALLING! Then Chuck opened the chute and it all went totally silent and we were floating, so ever gently down. It seemed that it lasted a lot longer than it did, time just slowed way down. This was an experience like no other. We just floated our way down. I remember when the trees started coming into focus I was almost sad, because it meant that it was almost over and I certainly didn't want it to end. I even asked Chuck if there was a motor on this thing so we could turn it on and go back up - uh, no... Landing was a cinch, very easy. Then the thrill of it all came rushing in all at once and I really don't think I stopped clapping my hands and saying "Oh, my God" for a LONG time. Yes, I bought another jump and I'm going up this coming Wednesday. I gave my daughter a jump for her birthday and we are going together. See you guys then! Can't wait!!

Will Staton (6/12/2005)
The only word that can describe my experience is AWESOME. The whole experience was just amazing and I am so glad i decided to try skydiving. It truely is the most exhilirating experience there is. Ken was my tandem instructor and he was just awesome. He explained everything very well and answered any questions i had. He let me help in the landing and was just great the whole time. Judy was the videographer and was the coolest, she made me feel comfortable and talked the whole time which helped greatly. I would like to thank
Skydive Carolina! for my experience and I will definately be back to either to tandem jump again or go through the AFF program to get certified, more than likely the AFF program. Thanks again.

Ewayne Barnes, Gastonia, NC (6/8/2005)
On June 4th I was able to live out a life long dream to skydive. I also was able to share it with my sister, Shanna. It was everything and more than I could have ever imagined. I can tell everyone how awesome it was but the only true way to understand the thrill is to experience it. If you have ever thought you might want to jump, I say go do it. I have to say that
Skydive Carolina! made my experience that much better just for the way my family and I were treated. I want to give a special thank you to Ken Otuz’s for getting the golf cart and bringing my Dad up closer to watch. That said a lot about you and made my Dad feel good. He even talks now like he would like to jump; he would need a ride off the landing field though. Thank you to Johnny for making that first jump so much fun, I will ask for you on my next jump. Michael you did a great job taking pictures and videoing the experience of a life time. I just wish I didn’t have to listen to myself talk. I get so embarrassed every time I say “I am pumped” I must have said it 10 times through my video and my sister’s video. The ride down from the adrenaline high was both tiring and carried a loaded headache. That’s what I call a natural high! Thanks to all of you at Skydive Carolina!, from the ladies who have us sign our lives away to all the instructor’s, you were the best. Can’t wait to see you all again with in the year.

PS, I’m still PUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jamie Price , Sophia, NC (6/5/2005)
Skydiving has always been a dream of mine and I thank you and your staff for making it come true for me. I decided to do this as a remembrance of graduating nursing school on June 3rd. I never believed that it would have been as beautiful and exhilarating as it actually was. I will definitely be reserving another time to jump again and I look forward to it! Thank you!

Gerilyn C. Forister (5/23/2005)
Hey there folks @ Skydive Carolina! I’m not sure who will get this but I sent it out to several of my friends today - then thought y’all might want to see it as well. Just thought I’d let you know I enjoyed my first tandem jump yesterday!

We made it! Steven & I both jumped out of a perfectly good airplane yesterday and we both lived to tell about it! We arrived at Skydive Carolina! in Chester, SC shortly before our 3PM scheduled time. It was a beautiful day – warm and mostly sunny w/ blue skies & a gentle breeze, only a handful of clouds. After filling out the mountain of paperwork & legal disclaimers and sitting through a short video, we started suiting up. We each went tandem (Steve w/ Ken and me w/ Chuck) and each had our own photographer / videographer (Sean was mine.) We also had some buddies on the plane with us – my good friends Ed & Michelle – both avid skydivers – who came out for moral support and encouragement. That’s’ not all, though. There were a total of 14 people in that tiny Cessna plane which only had one seat, the pilot’s seats. Steve & I and our instructors got to straddle the one bench in the plane, (backs to the pilot, facing the back door of the plane, all in a row.) The rest of the divers sat in a line on the floor.

Once we got up to 14,000 ft, the rolling glass door opened and the first few regulars lined up to jump out. That’s right about the time I started my deep breathing routine – out of sheer panic. Oh my gosh! What the heck was I doing?!?! I must be crazy! Steven and his instructor were next. They were attached at both shoulders & hips with those crucial 4 hooks (FOUR HOOKS!?!?! Is that ALL that is holding me on to the man with the parachute – FOUR HOOKS!?! OH MY GOSH!) Still, being attached that way made it awkward to slide down the bench and scoot over to the open door. But there Steve & Ken were… at the door, squatting at the edge… rocking forward (“ONE”)… then backward (“TWO”) then out they went (“THREEEEEEE!!”)

I’ll let Steve tell you in his own time about his jumping experience but what I can say about mine is that watching Steve & Ken jump out – is when I went into total panic mode. I closed my eyes. It was my only defense. “Remember to breath, Gerilyn… remember while jumping out of the plane to keep my arms either crossed in front or holding on to my shoulder straps… remember to keep my head back… remember to keep my legs between the instructor’s legs and kick my feet up behind me as if to kick the instructor in the tail… remember to smile for the camera… oh yeah, and again… remember to breath.” I don’t remember jumping out – I guess because my eyes were closed. But I opened my eyes almost immediately once we were out of the plane. I saw blue and I saw clouds… lots of clouds. And it was chilly – not cold, but chilly. I was very scared – a bit too scared to actually enjoy myself. “They lied,” I thought. “They told me I would not get the sensation of falling – but I definitely feel like I’m falling” was the thought resonating through my brain. In retrospect though – it wasn’t a “falling” sensation I was having as much as it was – WINDY! Having 120 miles per hour of wind in my face is not a normal experience for me! I tried to smile for the camera a few times and blow a kiss once or twice- but the wind was having its way with the skin on my face (think… chipmunk- post wisdom-teeth surgery. That’s about what I looked like in my video!) I was nervous & scared – but it was cool – unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. After playing with the camera a bit more (thumbs up, wave, smile – ooops – there went my bottom lip!), I noticed that Chuck’s arm was in front of me and his altimeter was right at 6,000 ft. Although it felt like no time at all had gone by, I knew what it meant when we hit 6,000 ft– it was time for me to pull the cord. Would I have enough nerve to do it or was I still too panicky?

I reached down my right hand to my right hip – there it was – the rip cord – just where I left it! (Imagine that?!) I let go of it for a second to wave goodbye to the camera – grabbed it again and – WOW! A slight jerk and tug and we were floating. (I later apologized profusely to Chuck for dropping the rip cord – a detachable piece which has to get replaced each time one is lost and which Chuck reminded me 6 times not to let go of.) But anyway – there we were FLOATING 5800 ft above the earth! Wow! I told Chuck that I was REALLY scared. But somehow just being able to tell him that & hear him talk back to me (which we were unable to do during free-fall because of the noise of the wind) was reassuring enough. I started to calm down a bit. And then, I really started to enjoy the scenery and the sensation of floating as we slowly descended. He said you can see the buildings ofCharlotte on a clear day. I did not, but I saw acres and acres of beautiful Carolina country-side. It was an incredibly free experience – my fear was fading into a distant memory (just like the plane thousands of feet above.) We did a few spiral turns here & there – he went easy at my request – gently pulling on one toggle strap or another. “Where’s Steve?” I asked him and he pointed to big blue parachute below me that was just about to land. “Where are Ed & Michelle?” They were already on the ground. And in no time at all, so were we. I lifted my legs up like a pro and Chuck brought us in for a perfect landing. Wow! What a rush!

So – what do you do if you’re someone like me – scared of heights and just went through one of the most frightening experiences in my life? So frightening that I had to close my eyes & remind myself to breath?!?! What do you do if you’re like me? You sign up for another jump, of course! And that’s exactly what I’ve done – I’ve signed up to go back again sometime within the next 12 months. Maybe next time I can tell you tell you what its like to actually watch w/ my eyes open when we jump out of the plane. I certainly plan to make more of the free-fall experience now that I know what to expect. And I’ll definitely work on practicing better muscle control over my facial features!

All in all, it was a fabulous experience. And the video was an excellent $100 investment; I’ve watched it a few times already and sure many more times to come. I got the still shot photography too and as soon I get them developed I’ll e-mail a few pics out. If you haven’t ever experienced skydiving for yourself… you don’t know what you’re missing!

Just wanted to say thank you again to Chuck and the rest of the staff for the great time I had. Words can't describe the experence of skydiveing and I can't wait to do the AFF on my next visit. BTW to the snack bar guy I can't remember your name but thanks for talking me into jumping it's been three days and I'm still amped up.

Therese Bartholomew (5/2/2005)
WOW! What an incredible experience! My daughter Jessica and I participated in Operation Freefall 2005, and I can never fully express how much this experience meant to us. Although Jessica and I both jumped to raise awareness of sexual assault, we had also experienced a great loss in our lives two years ago with my brother's tragic and unexpected death. We saw skydiving as an opportunity to heal and to regain some sense of power. Mission accomplished! Special thanks to our tandem instructors - Bill and Chuck - we'll be asking for you on our next jump(which we've already purchased)!

April Judkins, Blountville, TN (4/11/2005)
Thank you Guys! You made my 24th birthday one I'll never forget! It was a beautiful day (April 9th, 2005) and everyone at Skydive Carolina was so laid back and friendly! Chuck & Robin thank you for making me laugh and feel completely comfortable with my first jump! Not that I was nervous anyways :) You can rest assured I'll be back very very soon! My goal for the summer is to get licensed so I can jump all the time...and maybe work with you!!! You guys have the coolest job ever, especially you Robin! It is such a free feeling that is hard to describe...so just do it! Everyone have a wonderful skydiving day!!! Luv always.

While staying at a friends apartment, I noticed a "Skydive Carolina" bumper sticker. Well, I am in college, and like to try new things, so i gave them a call. The price was not bad at all and I got together a group of Six people. The experience was AWESOME. You dont get to do stuff like this on a normal basis, even tho we are going to try to now :-). After we jumped, we bought another ticket do go again sometime this summer. The staff is VERY friendly and informative. Skydiving is a must for all, its GREAT. Thanks again for the awesome time.

I just wanted to write you guys a quick email to thank you for an amazing experience last week as my sister Tami and I both did tandem jumps. We had the privilege of hanging out with you guys for 4 or 5 days waiting on good weather and I camped out at the boogie with you all two weeks ago and that allowed me to really get to know your staff and people in the skydive community and I felt an immediate connection as well as Tami. Such a great group of people that love life and embrace it fully. Your staff had such a great combination of true professionalism but within a fun, laid back atmosphere. Our jumps were made more meaningful by getting to know the people we jumped with and I look forward to many more in the future. Big thanks to Ken for taking me under his wing a bit and teaching me a lot along the way. Like I told him at 12000 ft, this is the first and LAST time I have been or ever will be sitting in a man's lap. Thanks Jimmy for a great pack job. Judy for your help and kind spirit. Dale for jumping with us and cooking that mean BBQ. Chuck, it was fun hanging and cutting up man. Thanks to all the cool people that made our first jump a memorable one and I look forward to jumping with you all again soon.

Jessica Massey (11/8/2004)
JSaturday during my first tandum skydive! Please give a special thanks to my instructor, Rachel Heins. She was terrific! Very helpful, upbeat, positive and was able to keep me focused when I was very nervous. And Terry Hopkins was great as videographer! Everyone who has seen my video loves it - great editing, too! Terry, you kept me laughing up there...thanks! By the way, a friend of mine says he knows you. Dan Anderson says "Hi". Everything considered, I had a great time, my family had a lot of fun, the staff was great, and I have already recommended you to others. Thanks again.

My dad's friend Damon Hearnehas always told my dad "skydiving stories" and eventually my dad told me. It's always been something I was interested in doing. We finally decided to do a Tandem Jump together (not me and him, but at the same time). With a free schedule, and a little peer pressure/name calling, we decided to finally do it. After a long wait, we finally headed up into the air and were ready for action. When the time came to jump I thought it would be very slow getting out of the airplane........but they were just throwing people out like ragdolls (joke) and I was a little surprised when my mind was elsewhere and then I was all of the sudden sitting in the doorway of the plane! I couldn't hear very well but there was some sort of countdown to the jump, which was then miscalculated by me. You can see the look of confusion/surprise on my video when we leaped out. The freefalling was very hectic because I kept trying to be a pro and throw my arms out when you're supposed to just keep them on your chest. My Tandem Master kept tapping me on the chest and I couldn't figure out why. Then I looked up and the camera-man was right in my face. I started laughing and couldn't look cool for the camera and ended up in a joker-like grimace the whole time. Once the parachute was pulled it was a little more controlled and I relaxed. You could see the mountains and the main part of Charlotte from the air. We then did a spin to get some aftermarket kicks from the Canopy. I think we were only one of maybe 3 Tandem's that didn't "ass-slide" on the ground. A great experience and will someday do it again when I have some spare time and another victim.

Tom Caperton, Whilteville, NC (11/6/2004)
My sincerest appreciation goes out to Danny Smith and the outstanding staff at Skydive Carolina! With repeated encouragement from my good friend Damon Hearne (Skydive Carolina! webmaster and long-time skydiver), I made my first tandem jump on Nov.6, 2004. Without a doubt, this was the most adrenalin-producing thing I have ever done, and very easily one of the most enjoyable experiences I have ever had. And getting to experience this with my youngest son (Scott) made the event even greater. (Scott made the jump to celebrate his 25th birthday.) My Jumpmaster (Johnny Mauney) and my videographer (Dave Osbon) couldn't have done a better job. True professionals, and great fun to boot.

Skydive Carolina!'s total assurance for safety and the vast experience of their Jumpmasters makes any jumper feel that he or she is in the hands of the best professionals in the business. With those things being assured, a tandem jumper is free to get completely lost in his/her own self-indulgent way of dealing with leaping out of an airplane at 12-14,000 feet! Thank you Skydive Carolina! for your professionalism, your friendliness, and your outstanding way of taking adrenalin production to an all-new high! This is truly an experience I will never forget.

John Brown, (10/14/2004)
Greetings Skydive Carolina!,
I just wanted to drop a line to you kind folks & let you know that my experience Sunday 10/08/04 was probably rated at the top of any adventure of my young 45 years of life yet. From repelling out of a helicopter & dropping 35 feet into a lake w/ full combat gear to jumping off a waterfall or tall mountains with boards strapped on my feet in the winter my tandem jump with Ken Ouzts was incredible, exciting, fabulous, thrilling..., just isn't enough words to describe it, I work with Christa Johnson & I have been listening to her enthusiasm since she started skydiving last year it brought out some old feelings & desires of my always wanting to fly through the air as I have seen so many others who have experienced the joy.

Now I have got the fever. Today is Thursday and my feet have still not hit the ground. I have showed my DVD to probably close to a 100 friends at work and seen a spark light up in their eyes as well so I'm sure you will be seeing our faces in the future.(Definitely mine since I have already pre-paid for my next jump). I would like to drop just a few words of thanks to some of the most professional people I have had the pleasure meeting. To Jeff thanks for instruction & answering my questions in the training room. Christa Johnson, thanks for showing us the gleam in your eyes at work when you tell us about your weekends in Chester, S.C. Ken Ouzts instructor/tandem master my man you were great, fantastic,a fabulous person to team up with. For some odd reason I was not nervous 1 second.

This was probably due to your professionalism, attitude, and experience. Your instruction was complete and very thorough (sorry about the landing, hope I didn't mess up to bad). I look forward to jumping with you again in the future, maybe even solo eventully. I had lost 11 lbs prior to my jump & hope to shed many many more before I come back down there. Pepe!!! What Up Dude!!! Man you are one crazy guy. I enjoyed jumping with you & Ken.Your video you shot was right on. Perfect.I wish I had ask you to put in Happy Anniversary with my name though. my wife got on to me for not mentioning it in thr intiew, but no biggy. Thanks man. Great shoot. Perra, editing was fabulous. perfect music & pics. Lots of comments from my friends on the DVD itself. Again thanks to each & everyone of you & the atmosphere you guys create down in S.C. Hooked forever.

I made my first AFF jump on 2004/10/10. I had never jumped before, but I love to "go fast", so I was anxious to go. There were 3 other people in the AFF class with me. Steve was our instructor, and he rocked. He was very cool and laid back, but serious about what we needed to learn. I was not nervous at all going up. When I exited the plane, I didn't arch as well as I should have, but I corrected it with the help of Steve and Judy. All in all, it was a blast. Everyone at the drop zone was cool and helpful. I definately want to jump here again!

Jennifer Cannaday, Mooresville, NC (10/10/2004)
I simply wanted to e-mail you to say Thank You for such a wonderful experience. My girlfriends and I enjoyed skydiving so much that we've already begun trying to talk our family and friends into joining us for another dive. I was very pleased with each of your associates. Not only were they very professional, but they were also a lot of fun! None of us were the least bit nervous until we were at the door of the plane about to jump. The dive was everything I thought it would be and more. It seemed to go by so fast that it almost felt like a dream. It is nice to have the DVD and pictures to look at to ensure that it was all real. We can't wait to do it again. Thanks again!

James B. Mathis, III, Charlotte, NC (9/27/2004)
I want to thank the Skydive Carolina! team in Chester. They understand the balance between being safe and professional and yet, letting you experience something so radical. I would recommend this experience to anyone that has ever wanted to try it. You are crazy if you jump for the first time and not buy the video and still picture package. Trust me, you want the evidence to show your friends and family. Thanks Again.

Jennifer Flynn, Lexington, NC (9/26/2004)
I just wanted to say an additional thanks to Chuck and Terry for the great time I had last Friday. I can hardly wait to do it again. ;) It was a blast! I knew that if I got to come home from Iraq for a mid-deployment vacation, I'd be thinking about these two weeks until I make it home again. My tandem jump with you guys is going to be a cherished memory that I'm sure I will do a lot of reminiscing over these last few months I have on tour. Take care, and I'll see you guys early next year! (By the way Terry, the pics turned out great!
Del Niday, Hickory, NC (9/21/2004)
To celebrate my 50th birthday, my 2 daughters and I all did tandem skydives, something I have always wanted to do. WHAT A BREATHTAKING EXPERIENCE!!!! The staff was great and made us all feel very comfortable. Thanks Kenn and Bill, our tandem instructors, and Blair, Pepe and Heidi, our videographers. The DVD's and still shots are awesome. Thanks also to Sharon for arranging the great day for us. Looking forward to my next jump.
Elizabeth Boles, Charlotte, NC (9/20/2004)
On Saturday, 2 of my friends, Courtney and Robyn, and I got to tandem skydive. It was a blast, really enjoyed the thrill and my instructor, Tim Hord was awesome and my video guy did a great job and I can't wait to blow up some of the photos! I have watched my video 8 times already!!! It was an experience I won't forget. Thanks for making my 30th birthday dream a reality!!!
Darcy Sanders, Kannapolis, NC (9/14/2004)
Thank you Skydive Carolina! Just wanted to drop a quick line letting you know what a great, fantastic, unbelievable time we had skydiving 9/11. My soon to be husband, his best friend and myself decided on a whim to call and schedule a jump. While it hadn't been my lifelong dream to jump from a plane I was more than game to give it a shot. Can you say re-organizing life time dream list? Ken, my tandem partner, was incredible. He was funny, friendly and best of all comforting just when those little nerves started to rear their ugly head. I can't imagine not doing this again and again! We back flipped, we spun, we glided like birds. It was beyond anything. Thank you, thank you, thank you for opening my eyes to a great new experience.
Randy Watson, Matthews, NC (9/13/2004)
My son Jonathan Watson and myself came to Skydive Carolina! to do our first tandem skydive at the same time. The experience was a great success from start to finish. We enjoyed it so much that Jonathan has since did another tandem and I started my accelerated training program. My first jump was far from perfect because I did not arch properly. Judy was a great trainer and helped me not only complete that jump successfully but also encouraged me to not give up and try a second jump. I did so on September 11, 2004 and it was a great success and now I have progressed to level 2 and looking forward to the next jump. Judy is a great trainer and the entire staff is as professional as possible. I applaud your facility and staff for making my skydiving experience nothing short of excellent. Would recommend to anyone looking for an adrenaline rush!!

September 11, 2004. The place, Skydive Carolina! The time, EARLY. My girlfriend, Quinn, and I were supposed to make our first tandem jump on Tuesday, September 7, her birthday. Unfortunately, remnants from the hurricane made us reschedule for Saturday. It was her idea, and love made me follow. I don't think I could have done it with anyone else. In order to get a discounted rate we chose the 8:00 a.m. jump. There were two others when we arrived. It only took a few minutes to sign my life away, and Quinn was writing as fast as she could. We waited for the instructor and eventually made it to the classroom to watch a video with a lawyer telling us that we just signed our lives away. At this point my nerves are starting up. We get the okay and suit up. We met our tandem instructors and videographers. I highly recommend this added bonus, it's more than worth it. The plane picked us up and we were on our way. Time at this point, for me at least, started to bend. Nothing felt like real-time. I kept looking at my altimeter to see how high we were. At about 9,000 feet we put on our helmets and hooked up to our instructors. The little red light came on and the door opened. I was surprised at how little a blast of air came in the plane. On went our goggles.

No sooner did the green light go on before the first person was out the door. I was about the 6th or 7th to go. No turning back now. We waddled to the door, bent down, and the next thing I know, I'm flying. The sensation of falling made me flail my legs upon exit, natural instinct I guess. Somehow, I thought, I was going to jump and then put me feet on something. After the initial seconds we stabilized and out went the drone. Now I was having the time of my life; the air rushing up at me, the curved horizon, the almost cloudless sky, the fact that no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't deny what I was feeling. I looked up and there was the camera. The cameraman and I held hands and did a couple of spins, how awesome is that? Before I knew it I felt the tug on my harness and I knew the rip cord had been pulled. Two seconds later it felt as if I had entered another dimension and then time did stand still. We seemed to be in suspended animation. I couldn't believe the difference in the sensations between free-falling and canopy flight. I asked the instructor not to do a whole lot of turns, I had started to feel queasy and going straight down was perfectly okay. It was weird seeing the plane that had previously "dropped us off" in the air, landing already.

We landed very softly and gently on our behinds. I was in a state of I don't know what. It's too hard to describe. I had just gone through every emotion known to man and I think I had major sensory overload. Once back at the hangar, reunited with Quinn, who jumped before me, we were given certificates, and shortly there after our dvd videos. They asked us if we wanted to watch them. They popped it in, and I relived it all over again. I cannot thank Joey, my tandem partner, Tim, my videographer, or Skydive Carolina! enough. The price is worth it to be a part of a small group of people who say that they jumped out of a plane at 14k feet, and for the camaraderie you feel afterwards with these people you just met. Nothing will compare. Thanks again. P.S. I'll bug Quinn until she writes her own testimonial.

On Saturday Sept. 4, 2004 a group from my office did our first sky dive. We had bad weather two other weekends but finally got our chance to jump. We had fun hanging out with the staff and other jumpers while we waited. I've always wanted to try skydiving but didn't think I'd have the guts to go through with it. I'm afraid of heights and can't even get on the down escalator. My tandem instructor Jeff Hekking walked me through the whole thing and made me feel safe and secure. It was the most thrilling experience of my life! The freefall was awesome! My favorite part was the parachute ride-soaring through the clouds and doing spirals. The view was breathtaking. The landing was also very easy. My videographer Blair Westbrook did a great job with the video and took incredible photos. The experience was well worth the money. I haven't stopped smiling since I landed back on the ground! I already bought another jump and can't wait to do it again. Thanks to Skydive Carolina!

Jamie Stager, Charlotte, NC (9/7/2004)
On 08/28/04 I skydived for the first time. It was the most exciting experience of my life. I was so scared to do it but as soon as we jumped all that went away. Kenn was so much fun to jump with. I LOVED IT and before my feet even it the ground I was think about doing it again! I recommend getting photos or video taped. Its worth it to show friend and family and see the look on there face. Thanks to everyone at Skydive Carolina!, esp Kenn.

Tabetha Jordan, Charlotte, NC (8/26/2004)
There is nothing I can write that hasn't been written over and over in everyone's testimonial....It was one of the best days of my life, I am still walking around like I am 10 feet tall...it was the most amazing thing I have ever done! And just like most, I have already scheduled my next jump for Saturday, Sept. 4th and I can't wait. My first jump was with about 10 of my friends. My tandem instructor was Chuck. He is an awesome guy and made my jump perfect! My videoflyer was Delphine...What an awesome job she did!!! I got the video and the still shots and everyone that knows me has seen both! I highly recommend to anyone that jumps to get the experience recorded!! I have watched it over and over and it's like reliving my jump. We are all jumping again and bringing a few more with us on the 4th. This may just be my new hobby!

Dear New Life 91.9 and Skydive Carolina!

I can't begin to thank you enough for allowing me to experience one of the most awesome days of my life. I am truly STILL on Cloud 9!! I have never done anything so empowering, but most importantly so freeing from worldly fears. I was praying my favorite scripture that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" over and over right before we got the all clear to jump. IT TRULY WAS A LEAP OF FAITH. I had written in my application letter about imagining that I would feel the breath of God up there soaring in the heavens, but it actually felt like the hand of God was holding me up. WOW!! I will hold that image in my mind and heart forever. Thank you for giving me a day to remember. I really do feel like there is nothing left to fear that I can't overcome with God's support.

I can Let Go and Let God!

To all at Skydive Carolina!:

WOW! Thank you for a wonderful first jump on Saturday! It was so much more than I could have ever thought. I feel like God blessed me beyond words – but I had to overcome my fear of heights first. I don’t know what’s more exhilarating – my conquering of my fear of heights or seeing God’s beautiful creation from such a unique and incredible perspective. Now I know why this is addicting! Special thanks to my man CHUCK, my awesome tandem instructor and David and Pepe – my video & photo guys. It was a blast – and I know you’ll be seeing me again someday. James, you were right – I loved it! This attached photo, taken just after I landed, says it all!

I experienced my first jump a few weeks ago. It was the most incredible thing I have ever done. I purchased the dvd and pictures which I highly recommend. Out of all the people that went with us, we each bought another jump and can't wait to come back for more. You guys did an incredible job. Special thanks to my tandem instructor Chuck and photographer Terry Hopkins. Thanks so much guys for an unforgettable experience!

Nicole Blevins, Monroe, NC (8/10/2004)
I just want to say THANK YOU for an incredible experience! I went tandem skydiving for the first time ever this past Saturday. What a way to help celebrate a decade of survival! Gene, my instructor, made me feel so comfortable and really made the experience that much better. I have really enjoyed showing off my video to family and friends (and getting the reactions I do-YOU DID WHAT?!). I am really looking forward to Operation FreeFall in the spring and my next jump. Thanks to everyone at Skydive Carolina! for a wonderful day and experience. Thank you for my Blue Skies! Nicole

Laura Robertson, Charlotte, NC (8/5/2004)
Wow! I went skydiving (tandem) for the first time and had an absolute blast. My instructor, Heidi Adams, was great. She made me feel so comfortable and really made the experience that much better. I have really enjoyed showing my video to family and friends. I went with a group and everyone enjoyed it so much that they are going to do it again. We have a lot of friends who are going to join us for their first jump on our next visit. I am really looking forward to my next jump. Thanks to everyone at Skydive Carolina!, especially Heidi, for a great experience. See you guys again soon! - Laura

David Rose, Charlotte, NC (8/4/2004)
I also skydived with PJ and it was an incredible experience. I highly suggest doing this at least once. I will be back again to do it. Everyone there is awesome and like to cut up a lot but also take this very seriously. The only regret I have is I did not get a video of this. GET THE VIDEO.

Dona Coates, (8/4/2004)
I just wanted to contact you all and tell you what a fantastic time I had celebrating my 50th birthday in the sky. A special thanks to Ken Ouzts for taking me up on my first, (but not the last) tandem. There are no words to describe it. Heidi was great fun filming everything and I have shown it to everyone. We are even having a cookout so that I can show it off. I have never had a better birthday, and everyone made me feel like family. I will be telling everyone about it, so I am sure you will be getting some new students soon. Thanks again, and Ken, I will never forget it. You are great.

As soon as I get the pictures developed on CD, I will send them to you.
My best to all of you, Dona Coates.

PJ Welsh, Charlotte, NC (7/30/2004)
I did my first tandem jump today. It's the first of many more to come. We went as a group of eleven. Eight of us are going back in a couple of weeks. We bought the DVD's, a must have for the first time flyers. I took my lap top to some friends today to show them the DVD's, another five people want to come. Rachel Hines was my instructor she was awesome. She made me feel so at ease. She was also a lot of fun and likes to joke around. We had a blast.
Thanks to everyone at Skydive Carolina!, you guys are first class.

Vivian Anders, Greenville, SC (7/30/2004)
Thank you staff for the most exhilarating ride of my life! I went last Tuesday with my son, Lance,(Wings of Blue Parachute Jumping Team Member of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs) and my daughter, Lindsay. James cheerfully helped us complete the paperwork and made us feel at home. Kenn Ouzts was a super fantastic instructor! He made us feel at ease with his sense of humor and professionalism! It was the most indescribable experience of my life from the beginning of jumping out of the plane to the landing! It was the closest experience to being an astronaut I will ever have. Now I know why birds sing, Kenn. Terry was an awesome videographer and made a first class DVD and unbelievable stills. I can’t wait to show my first grade students next week since our theme for the year is “Reach for the Stars”. (Click on images to enlarge)

I must say that I may be hooked on skydiving. Myself and a friend made our second tandem jump on July 24th. The second time was even better than the first. We brought two new people with us who had always wanted to experience this amazing ride, and they loved it as much as we did. All the folks affiliated with Skydive Carolina! are wonderful. You couldn't ask to be associated with a friendlier group of people. Pepe, thanks for the video man. Next time we will get the stills. ;-) I would recommend Skydive Carolina! to anyone who wants to have the thrill of a lifetime. We will be back very very soon!!!!
Susan Hilger, Charlotte, NC (7/25/2004)
A week ago (July 18) I was in Chester for my first tandem jump, and I wish I could be living that day all over again. What a great experience!!! I have imagined it a million times, but never as it truly is! My friend of many years, Eric, is down there jumping every week, and he's been inviting Kim and I to do our tandem for at least a year or two. I can't believe we waited so long. My tandem instructor, Bill was great! Even during the most tense moments, he had me laughing and at ease. Thanks to Eric and Terry for a great video and their wit and humor. Everyone at
Skydive Carolina! made the jump and the day perfect!!! Kim and I will be back!
Bonnie Pou, Charlotte, NC (7/20/2004)
At age 57 I took my first skydive after my friend Michelle told me about her first jump, describing it as,"she was so glad she didn't die before experiencing a jump from an airplane." I took the challenge and jumped on July 17th! It was the most exhilarating thing I've ever done in my life. Thanks go to Tim and Mike and all the other people there at Skydive Carolina! for making me feel safe. I shall return.
Susan B. Hancock, Matthews, NC (7/20/2004)
Kudos to Liam, my instructor, for a FABULOUS time. Sunday, July 18th was my 40th birthday. The skydive was everything I could have hoped for (and more). I was nervous but Liam and others at Skydive Carolinas helped to make it a great experience. So much so that I signed up for a 2nd jump which I hope to do in a few months. Thanks
Skydive Carolina!

I took my first skydiving trip this past Sunday July 18, 2004. My neighbors asked me if I wanted to skydive with them because they could get a $10 discount with so many people signed up and being the bleeding heart I am I told them I'd sign up and I think I shocked them from the look on their faces. I also have always wanted to do this. Anyway, from the moment I got there until we left, the staff I met or saw in action, were so incredibly nice and just having fun! I have to tell you I didn't have feelings one way or the other and I knew as a normal person I needed to be scared, but you don't know how to act when you don't know what is coming. OK, it only took about 2 minutes after getting on the plane to know that I knew exactly how I felt.......SCARED. What was I thinking??! I'm just as chemically unbalanced as the next person, but it takes a special person to do this. I was not thinking I was one of these special people after looking down from 3,000 feet and we had to go to 14,000 feet. Ken was my instructor and Ken absolutely is The Man! He made something so terrifying so much fun! He totally put me at ease with his "jokes" and personality:) Everyone on the plane acted like it was just another day at the office and cut up with each other like it was no big deal. My trip up consisted of a bunch of guys and there was an individual jumper that was a woman that I admire so much, she is the type of brave that I used to be. Terry did the photography and video, I don't know what else to say, except he is awesome at what he does and the person he is! I watch the video like it's my favorite movie! I make everyone watch it too, to tell them that if I can do it they can. I have not stopped smiling and walking on air since Sunday. I can't wait to go back! Oh, I'll be scared, but it will be different the second time. I think the guys I know are going to go just because they don't want a girl showing them up. I also want people I know to go so I have a reason to go hang out at one of the coolest places around. If I don't see you here, I'll see you in the air.
Phyllis Baxter, Piedmont, SC (7/18/2004)
Big Smiles....Speachless is the only word to use, as words cannot really come close to explaining, nor describing the feelings that one has...not when on the way up in the plane, or at being next to jump, nor when doing freefall summersaults.....My son brought me and his girlfriend up today..7/18/04..a combination of all our birthdays...them 25, me 47..all for our first tandem jumps..my DiveMaster Ken O was totally awesome, made me feel entirely at ease...Melissa's was Chuck and Derek's was Ken, and they were awesome too though not as awesome as mine..lol...the entire staff was friendly and helpful and I will definitely be returning!!!!..and recommending
Skydive Carolina! to friends!!!
Donna Lovill, Concord, NC (7/19/2004)
WOW!!!!!!!!! Where do I start? I had my first tandem jump on Saturday July 17th and man was it great!!!! An experience of a lifetime. It is difficult to put into words the feelings that come with skydiving but I really want to thank Ken so much for being my instructor. He was so funny and helpful and wanted to make sure everything went just right to make my first jump the best....and it worked. We went backwards out of the plane and did a couple of flips and I think I was yee hawing all the way to the actual landing and laughing the whole time! I never felt nervous and I owe this to Ken and the whole staff. I can't believe how nice and professional everyone was. They made sure that I was well taken care of! The video is GREAT and everyone wants to see it so I think I showed it 3 times on Sunday to 3 different groups of friends. You may have several more coming down soon by the sound of it! Thanks again and I will definitely be doing this again!!!!! Skydive Carolina! ROCKS!
Amber Doran, Charlotte, NC (7/5/2004)
My cousin and I just got back from our tandem skydives and we can't stop smiling! It was such an amazing experience, it's something everyone should try. Now I just want to go everyday!! Everyone at
Skydive Carolina! was so nice. It's a friendly energy filled atmosphere. And everyone makes you feel so comfortable and safe! I'll be back again SOON. Actually you may not be able to keep me away! Thanks so much to Ken and Bill our instructors and Heidi who did Nicole's video and photos! The video is so amazing! Tons of great shots and the music with it Rocks!! It's very professional. (Actually makes me wonder why the training video is so cheesy)Video and photos are well worth it!! See you in a couple weeks.
Anthony S Young, Indian Trail, NC (6/29/2004)
I took a tandem jump this past Sunday 27 June 2004 and I wanted to give a thumbs up to everyone at Skydive Carolina!!! My instructor was Heidi Adams and she did one heck of a job!!! The crew did everything right from start to finish in making sure that me any my wife had a great time. In fact I immediately signed up again to make another jump and I have told everyone that has asked about my experience to come down there and experience a jump with you guys at least once. Upon my next jump I hope that Heidi and Delphina are still there as they did a great job and I want them to work with me again. Thanks again for such great service!!!!
Wendy Carter, Rock Hill, SC (5/25/2004)
All I can say was that it was a thrill of a lifetime.....and a great way to celebrate my 35th birthday. My tandem jump with instructor Gene Stuart and videographer Terry Hopkins was not only impressive, but incredibly professional. The weather was perfect, the scenery was breathtaking and the people at
Skydive Carolina! were amazing. I thank you all for making 4/28/04 a day I will never forget. I made a few friends that day and plan to be jumping again soon! Thanks again Skydive Carolina! Blue Skies.
Adrian McCurry, Asheville, NC (5/16/2004)
Today I started my AFF jumps. Judy and Heidi were my instructors. To let you know how professional these folks are at Skydive Carolina!, my jump did not go as planned and with the help of my team they got me back in to a flight pattern. I have to repeat this jump which I do not mind for this shows me that skydiving must be perfect and to achieve this the diver must not forget one single lesson no matter what you may find yourself in. This makes me even more determined to skydive with Skydive Carolina!'s teams ... they are Awesome !!
Stephen Marlor, Salisbury, NC (5/14/2004)
The only way to describe my experience is....wow! Although I went with just my brother to make a jump and it was a weekday, you all made me feel right at home. You catered to my needs and helped to work around my schedule. Everyone was a pleasure to talk to from planning the jump, to the day of the jump itself. My instructor was just awesome. He not only taught me what to do, he made it fun and I could tell he was having fun doing it. This truly was one of the best experiences in my life and I will never forget it. I can't wait till my next jump, and I wouldn't do it anywhere but
Skydive Carolina!
Annette Poole, Fort Mill, SC (4/26/2004)
WOW! What can I say - How do I describe the thrill of a lifetime. I looked forward with great anticipation to what my friends Danny, James and Christy have been talking to me about for months now, and I finally understand why this is a passion for them. I'm totally hooked. I came out a week early before my jump just to watch some tandem jumps and they all looked so excited and ready for more - I just couldn't wait till it was my turn. Well, the day finally came and I wasn't even scared because everyone made me feel so comfortable and and so well taken care of. Steve was my instructor and made everything sound so calm and simple, Terry did an awesome job on the video, and of course Danny Smith gave me a gift I will never forget.

Thank you all at Skydive Carolina! for my "Independence Day".

Sherri Branson, North Augusta, GA (4/11/2004)
I had my first skydive last year at
Skydive Carolina! with Joey and it was wonderful. Although I had to wait nearly six hours for the sky to open up and the sun to shine through, it was well worth the wait as my anticipation level was at a peek. Jumping tandem and not having a choice when you're standing at the edge of the plane is quite a thrill. The initial freefall is pretty much a blur, lots of screaming and heart coming up through your chest! Once you regain your bearings though, the remainder of the fall is something I will never forget. There aren't words to describe it. The video and memories are priceless in my opinion as I haven't found any experience that could even come close to skydiving. My friends have asked me why I choose Skydive Carolina! instead of a place here in Canada...I have to tell them that my brother dove with you and he said the overall experience was awesome as the staff and instructors were very helpful, friendly and fun. I'll definitely be back! Thanks, Jules
Kathy Pasley, Matthews, NC (4/7/2004)
It's hard to describe the feeling of my first jump....exhilarating, empowering, breathtaking, even life altering! A once in a lifetime experience that will forever be a wonderful worthwhile memory! I urge anyone who wants to do only 1 thing that they didn't think they would do....to do this! Danny, Bill and Sean all were wonderful in making my experience one that I will never forget and never stop talking about! Thank you from the bottom of my and my daughters heart! You will always have my whole hearted endorsement as a first class operation! :)

Dariel Burnett, Charlotte, NC (3/29/2004)
I made a tandem skydive on March 27, 2004 for my birthday. It was a great way to start off my 30's. I wanted to do something wild and crazy. I enjoyed every minute of it!! I was very nervous, as this was my first time on any aircraft, also. Steve was a terrific instructor, and very professional. I was very comfortable with him once we were ready to jump. Thanks to Heidi for filming my experience. I look forward to coming back and trying it again. Next time, I won't be so nervous, and will probably enjoy it even more so!! Thanks
Skydive Carolina!
Cindy Barringer, Charlotte, NC (3/29/2004)
I made my first jump on Sunday, March 28, 2004. Jeff was my instructor and I couldn't have asked for a nicer or more professional person to assist me in falling out of a plane! :) I put my life in this stranger's hands and never once thought he might let me down. And he certainly didn't.

Every staff member I encountered was friendly and so willing to help that it made my experience even more enjoyable. And copiloting the plane was an extra bonus. And a special thanks to Blair for giving me such a wonderful video. You did what I asked and made me look good. :) I bet I've watched that video 50 times already. I can't stop talking about it. I'm still floating on air.

Thanks to all of you at Skydive Carolina!

Angela, Charlotte, NC (3/29/2004)
I did a tandem skydive for the first time ever this weekend! Amazing!! I had both a wonderful instructor (Jeff) and wonderful videographer (Blair). :) I thought I'd feel more nervous but the staff kept me laughing and comfortable the whole time. Before I knew it we were up in the plane and then out the door!! What a rush! Jeff was extremely friendly and professional! Blair did an excellent job capturing it all for me so I can remember it forever. Thanks to Skydive Carolina! for making this such a wonderful experience!!!!!!!!!!!
Greg Sieman, Charlotte, NC (3/16/2004)
"
Just wanted to say thanks to you folks at Skydive Carolina! (Johnny, Bill, and our two videographers). It was the most incredible experience of my life...I look forward to doing it again...and again...and again."
Jeremy Bentley, Portland, OR (1/8/2004)
Well my story is long so I'll do my best to shorten it. My buddy Dan Sherman moved down south from NY, so I came down a few months after. I started to work for a freeflyer, Kurt is his name. He owns a deli and would play video footage of his jumps on the shops TV I would tell him all the time how that looks like fun, then one day I ended up there in Chester, met some of the crew, Red and Freak and the next thing I know I'm jumping out of a plane! Man I have been hooked ever since. It's been a couple of summers since that day but its a day I will never forget! Thanks to Tracey (my tandem instructor), all the staff, and especially Kurt (you can find him in the freeflying photo portion of this site!) You opened an entirely new door in my life. Thanks a lot Skydive Carolina! (I just wish it could be that good out here!) Well, Peace out from P-Town!

"
I turned 50 this summer and my younger brother and I decided to learn to skydive. After visiting several DZs, we decided to train at Skydive Carolina! Yesterday we obtained a "Novice" rating by passing level 7 and have had a great experience. The staff and instructors we had were very willing to work with us so that both of us could do the entire program at the same time. The instructors are excellent, patient and understanding in their training efforts. (And training me takes patience!) I'd especially like to thank Steve, Judy, Chip, Bill, Joey and Danny for their patience and help. There's no better place to train."
Kyle Hill, Monroe, NC (8/31/2003)
"I jumped for my first time on Aug.23 2003 with Bill Scott as my partner in the tandem jump. Words cannot describe how it felt jumping out of the plane for the first time. I will do it again soon for sure. Your staff there at Chester is superb!!! Thanks and have a good day!!"
Steve Davis, Clemmons, NC (7/25/2003)
"
Every since I was a kid, I'd always dreamed to fly. Now, here I am, 25 years old, having just made my dream come true by making my first skydive, an AFF level one jump. The experience was, somehow, even after all I'd dreamed, greater than any expectation I could've ever had. I feel more alive and free right now than I ever have, and I thank my outstanding friends Judy, Jason, Gus, Danny, and Larry for helping me to achieve my dream You guys are the best, and I'll be back soon. Thanks."
Todd Wrightson, Trinity, NC (7/12/03)
I made my first jump(tandem) on July 12, 2003 and what a rush it was!! I want to thank everyone at Skydive Carolina! for a great first time experience, but most especially my Instructor, Chip Steele, and Videographer, Sean Adams, for making it all come together. Today is July 12, 2003 and I just made my 2nd skydive. It was just as exciting and thrilling as my 1st jump 2 years ago. John Owens was my instructor and Terry Hopkins was filming. These two men were fantastic! Skydive Carolina! is a great place to go out and jump. I'm sure that I'll return again someday. Thank you!"

Phyllis Moody, Charlotte, NC (07/01/2003)
Today, July 1, I turn 50 and it is with joy I can say I have marked off my list one of the top things I wanted to do before I turned 50. Saturday, June 21, 2003, I had one of the most wonderful experiences of my life! It was my first tandem skydive and words cannot describe the awesomeness of free falling!

Many thanks to Terry Hopkins for the excellent video I will always cherish and many, many thanks to Chip, the best instructor I have ever had the privilege to learn from. We bonded quickly and I will always remember you! Everyone at Skydive Carolina! made this an incredible and memorable experience and for that I will always be grateful! I look forward to skydiving again and encourage everyone who has the desire to go for it!!

"On June 6th,2003 I had my first AFF jump and what a great day ! I had the greatest team take me through the ground training and the jump and landing. My thanks to Judy, Joey, Brenda and Augusto for making this jump successful. "I made my tandem dive May 6th, 2000. It was truly the most exciting thin I've ever done. There are no words to describe the incredible feeling of falling from the sky like that. On my way home that day I felt as if I had been on vacation and gone from home for a whole week. You just feel different after experiencing something like this. I'm scheduled to go again June 14, 2003. I can't wait. If you are interested in doing this go ahead an contact Skydive Carolina! They will fix you up for an event you will never forget."

Ervena Gillespie, Micaville, NC (03/29/2003)

"My dream was to skydive on my 50th birthday. I called Skydive Carolina! and made an appointment for March 29th. 2003. My 20 year old son David decided he would also skydive. Words can not describe the awesome experience we had. Thanks to Judy and Vivian everything was set into motion. John Owens and Johnny Mauney our instructors were great. They made everything go perfectly for us. The pilot on the plane was wonderful. Bill picked us up and took us back to the hanger. Gus made a video for us to finish off a perfect trip.

Thanks to all of you for a fantastic time, you really made us feel welcome. Looking forward to skydiving again. Thank you Danny Smith for making it all possible. May the Lord Richly bless you all for making my birthday the most special day ever. Skydiving is not for everyone, but if you have a desire, go for it. Life is too short not to enjoy."

"I have three years in this wonderful sport. 48 jumps. I am very close to my B license. 43 years old. My 19 year old daughter has one tandem jump.
Skydive Carolina! Chester is the best drop zone for me. I drive three hours just to fall from the sky. Danny, Judy, and Steve are the very best for your personal safety. Everyone at Chester will work with any beginner to expert. Thanks to you all for the best times in my middle-aged challenges."

"I was part of a group that took dives on Saturday, August 25. It was my first tandem dive. My instructor was John Owens. He must have known that I was nervous, even though I didn't think I was. He put me at ease, so I wasn't thinking of being frightened. The entire experience was the most awesome thing I have had the pleasure of doing. Thanks to
Skydive Carolina! and John Owens, I can mark off one of the 10 things I want to do before I die. I will be back for my second tandem jump, whenever we can get another group together."

Darlene Rathell, Thomasville, NC (7/21/2001)
"My name is Darlene Rathell. I just made my very first jump this morning - tandem. It was the most incredible feeling. My instructor was Geoff Woodliff and I want to say that he was terrific! I truly commend Geoff. John Hayes was my camera flyer and was also super! I also had my local newsman from Fox8 WGHP TV in High Point, North Carolina. The coverage of my jump will be run in tomorrow nights Sunday spot. :) Thanks so much for the most thrilling day of my life! I hope to return and jump again soon. Thanks again!!!!"

"It was an absolute blast-not nearly as scary as I'd imagined, especially after watching the first couple of loads go for it. The best part was making some new pals-you're really in a bonding situation with something like this. Anyone who hasn't tried it needs to get out to Chester with Theresa (who's a fabulous leader, btw) and try it!"

Carroll Buck, Charlotte, NC (6/6/2001)
"Last Sat., June 2nd was my second tandem skydive and it definitely won't be my last! Everyone there is soooo fantastic, that it's almost impossible to be nervous. Falling was the most freeing sensation I've ever felt. The instructors were absolutely fantastic and helpful as were the videographers. I think one of the most fun things was watching my friend do her first AFF jump. I'm right behind her! We had a party afterwards with a great buffet that was completely yummy. They really treated us well. There was camping too, for those who didn't want to drive back. I can't wait to let Theresa...know that I'll be going again."

Russ Meade, Hickory, NC (5/14/2001)
"Unlike anything I had imagined! Totally awesome feeling out there with God and the heavens. Planning my next jump as we speak. Freefalling is in my blood now!"

Phillip Moore (4/7/2001)
"I also would like to say how much I appreciate everything you do for us. You all are doing a great job. I also think that the way you did the manifest for the Rodriguez Brothers Boogie was super efficient. I think it went really well. Thanks, Phillip."
